Electrical Underfloor Heating

Electrical underfloor heating is a more modern version of the type of heating used by the ancients. Romans architects designed building heated by hot water running under the floor. Electrical floor heating produces results superior to earlier methods, with far lower cost and greater efficiency.  It also has an advantage in that it can be installed in an already completed building.

Using air conditioners or radiators to heat a room tend to be inefficient. The heat tend to be lost to the upper part of the room, as the hot air rises, and some of these methods also produce noise and air currents. It tends to be far better to heating the floor. The heating of the building give a more natural feeling result. There is no circulating air to spread allergens or be lost through openings.

Methods of Electrical Underfloor Heating

On type Electrical underfloor heating uses strategically placed heating mats between the carpet and underlay. This type of system is easy to operate and easy to install with houses already competed; it need not be part of the original house’s design or preconstruction. It is maintenance free and, in addition to avoid noise and drafts, also rids floors of any moisture problems.

Solid surfaces like tiles, concrete or stone can also be heated electrically with pre-laid cables. This also works efficiently and quietly, but is must be part of the installed floor of the building.

CONSIDERATIONS

The efficiency of hydronic and electrical underfloor heating depends on the type of floor and covering. Tiled floors are very different to carpeted floors. Knowing the type of flooring in advance allows this to be taken into consideration; wire or pipe spacing and temperature levels can be set to achieve the best possible outcome.

The temperature of your floor is set by the underfloor heating thermostat. As part of the installed system this underfloor heating thermostat allows you to choose a desired heat level and have it maintained steadily. You can set and forget as you room stay at a comfortable temperature.
